The Senate decides on the THGA statutes and regulations as well as on the approval of the appointment of vice presidents. It makes proposals to the holding company for the appointment of professors. Moreover, the Senate comments on the distribution of duties among the vice presidents and on the selection of the vice president for budget and administration and on the university's development plans; the Senate is also responsible for proposals on the awarding of honorary professorships.
